Love-Compassionate Giving
Scripture Reading: 1 John 3:17 “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?”
Today, we focus on compassionate giving—giving out of love and compassion for others. 1 John 3:17 challenges us to examine the depth of our love for others and how it translates into our willingness to help those in need.
Reflection: Compassionate giving goes beyond mere financial support; it reflects genuine love and empathy. When we see someone in need, our response should stem from a heart of compassion, showing the love of God within us. In the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), Jesus illustrates the essence of compassionate giving. The Samaritan went out of his way to help a wounded man, demonstrating love and mercy despite cultural barriers. His actions were fueled by compassion and a willingness to help, even at personal cost. This powerful story reminds us that our love for others should inspire us to act selflessly and generously.
