Scripture Reading: John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

As we delve into our theme of humility, today we’re invited to consider the profound truth of our dependence on God. In John 15:5, Jesus uses the metaphor of the vine and branches to illustrate that our connection to Him is vital for our lives. He reminds us that apart from Him, we can do nothing. Embracing this reality is a key part of humility, as it helps us understand our role in God’s plan and our need for His grace.

Reflection: Imagine the relationship between a vine and its branches. The branches rely completely on the vine for sustenance and growth. In the same way, we are called to remain connected to Christ to lead fruitful lives. Take a moment to reflect on your life—are there areas where you find yourself depending more on your own abilities than on God’s strength? Recognizing our dependence invites us to trust in Him fully and acknowledge that we need His guidance and provision in every aspect of our lives.

Call to Action:

• Examine Your Self-Reliance: Think about aspects of your life where you might be leaning on your own skills rather than seeking God’s strength. Ask for His help to shift your focus from self-reliance to complete dependence on Him.

• Seek God’s Guidance: Make it a habit to invite God into your decision-making. Approach challenges with the assurance that His wisdom will lead you through.

• Practice Gratitude: Start a gratitude journal. Write down instances where you’ve seen God’s hand in your life.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I recognize that I am completely dependent on You. Forgive me for the times I have relied on my own understanding and strength. Help me to stay connected to You and draw strength from Your presence. Teach me to trust in Your provision and guidance in every area of my life. May my dependence on You be reflected in how I live and love others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Inspiration: Acknowledging our dependence on God is a beautiful expression of humility.
